The River Trail

Take in the picturesque sights of Winnipeg as you’ve never seen them before, from the frozen Red River! Venture out to The Forks to enjoy a variety of outdoor winter activities on the Guinness World Record-holding longest naturally frozen skating trail in the world.
New Music Festival

Celebrate the music of one of the world’s greatest composers, Steve Reich, at the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra’s New Music Festival. The festival is a musical portrait of a man whose contributions have defined minimalism as we know it.
Winter Festival
Jan 31 to Feb 2 | Brandon
Thirteen entertaining pavilions await you at the 10th annual Lieutenant Governor’s Winter Festival in Brandon. The festival is free and a great opportunity for you and your family to explore some of the many cultures from around the world.
Snowshoe expedition
Feb 2 | Foresters Footsteps Self-guiding Trail, Whiteshell Provincial Park
Trek through the snowy boreal forest with the Park Interpreter and discover how the forest is managed for a sustainable future as you snowshoe through natural areas and plantations of pine. Snowshoes are provided. Be sure to dress warmly for this 2 km hike. Walk is from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. For more information, email Sloan Cathcart.
World Wetlands Day / Groundhog Day
Feb 2 | Oak Hammock Marsh
Will we get an early spring this year? Catch Manitoba Merv give his prediction at sunrise. Also, find out how wetlands work and what makes them a perfect habitat for waterfowl at special wetland demonstrations throughout the day.
Snowmobile derby

Catch the epic romance Gone with the Wind at MTC this winter and watch as southern belle Scarlett O’Hara’s pampered life of parties and petticoats is threatened by the devastation of the American Civil War. Don’t forget your tissues.

Living in Space
