Take a trip back in time at the 59th annual Threshermen’s Reunion and Stampede at the Manitoba Agricultural Museum!
“It’s sort of like an old fashioned country fair” says Brad Froggatt, Chief Museum Officer and Curator. “What people come back for is the sense of history, because we have a lot of historical demonstrations. We have a lot of historical machinery and we have a parade every day of vintage equipment. We have the Clydesdale Classic, we have our historic fashion shows daily, and of course we have the rodeo every evening.”
In addition to the rodeo, the Reunion boasts a roster of family-friendly activities, including afternoon grandstand shows, a petting zoo, and more food booths than you can shake a stick at. There’s also a full slate of old-timey events and competitions on tap — from stooking and sheaftying demos to competitions between gas- and steam-powered threshers. And don’t forget to explore the Museum, home to Canada’s largest collection of vintage farm equipment and pioneer buildings — some of which date back as far as 1900 or earlier.
