Everyone’s a winner at the Grey Cup Festival

Before the big game’s kickoff, the party will already be in full swing! At the end of the month Winnipeg hosts the 103rd Grey Cup, which comes with five days of events and activities, November 25-28 followed by the CFL championship game on November 29. Here’s what you need to know to get in on the celebration:

Wednesday

The Grey Cup tour of Manitoba's northern communities.While the Cup has already seen quite a bit of the province, thanks to its tour of northern Manitoba with VIA Rail in partnership with Travel Manitoba and the Winnipeg Free Press, the arrival of the Grey Cup at the Manitoba Legislative Building at 3:00 pm is the official start of the Grey Cup Festival.

Thursday

Nissan Titan Street Festival at 103rd Grey Cup Festival

The first full day of the Grey Cup Festival is just that – full! Head over to the University of Winnipeg for the Nissan Titan Street Festival. The main stage features free live entertainment every day and the Nissan Titan Street Festival Promenade Tent is where to go when you’re ready for a beverage. The MacDon Fan Experience and Family Zone offers on-field activities and off-field crafts.

At 11:00, the Grey Cup Festival HQ opens at the RBC Convention Centre. Take in the free attractions like the CFL Hall of Fame exhibit, the Sport Manitoba exhibit, and Autograph Alley.  Get your official merchandise and trade pins with other collectors.

Meet players and alumni at the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Fan Fest from 5:00-7:30 at the Club Regent Event Centre. This free event leads into the sold out Shaw CFL Awards. But, tickets are still available for the CFLPA Official Players’ Party that takes place after the awards.

Thursday is also the first show of the Manitoba Craft Beer Concert Series at the RBC Convention Centre. Dallas Smith, Aaron Pritchett, and Leanne Pearson take to the stage for the country night edition of the three-day concert series.

Friday

Flip for the free pancake breakfast at University of Winnipeg Campus from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm as the Nissan Street Festival and MacDon Fan Experience & Family Zone continue. So too does the action at the Grey Cup Festival HQ at the RBC Convention Centre, which also hosts Touchdown Manitoba. From noon to 5:00 pm put on your best blue and gold and celebrate Manitoba’s hospitality. Check out the parties hosted by other provinces, giving this celebration a true Canadian feel.

The Sheepdogs headline night two of the Manitoba Craft Beer Concert Series, along with performances by The Trews and Attica Riots. Or you can party with the who’s who of the CFL, TSN, and sports media at the exclusive Grey Cup Festival Party at the Metropolitan Entertainment Centre.

Saturday

Cheer Extravaganza at Grey Cup Festival in Winnipeg, Manitoba

The Grey Cup Breakfast starts the day at 8:00 am, and the activities at both the University of Winnipeg and RBC Convention Centre carry on. The free Cheer Extravaganza at noon will wow you with acrobatics.

It’s rumoured that Santa may be a Bombers fan, but the only colours he’ll show at the Grey Cup Festival Santa Claus Parade is red and white. Winding its way through Winnipeg’s downtown, the parade is one big mobile celebration, ending with the Manitoba Parka Party, complete with fireworks, music, and family fun.

The other party of the night is the final night of the Manitoba Craft Beer Concert Series, featuring Loverboy, 54-40, and Queen City Kids.

Sunday

It’s game day! But first cheer with fans of all ages you join the Fan March, bringing the Grey Cup from the RBC Convention Centre to The Forks, where buses will take the gathered fans straight to the game at Investors Group Field. And it wouldn’t be football without tailgating, so get your tickets for the Monsanto VIP Indoor Tailgate Party at the University of Manitoba for drinks and DJs before opening kickoff.

After the cup has been hoisted, join the Grey Cup Festival Post-Game Party for music, drinks, and snacks, plus a chance to party with all your new friends and fellow CFL fans.
