Escape to Ancient Greece and Rome at the WAG

Olympus is a rare opportunity to see ancient Greek and Roman treasures on the Prairies. On view until March 6, this monumental exhibit brings to Manitoba over 160 works from one of the most celebrated collections anywhere: marble statues, bronze statuettes, terracotta vases, and jewellery, some over 2,000 years old! Learn about the fascinating worlds of Greek and Roman mythology and come face to face with the Olympian gods: Zeus, Venus, Athena, and more.

Whether you’re an art lover, family with kids, or never been to a museum, you’ll be inspired by this extraordinary collection and the many different ways you can experience it. Take the FREE audio tour available in English and French, and check out viewports built by the Manitoba LEGO® Users Group. Embark on a family adventure with the Olympus Odyssey activity booklet, FREE with admission. Drop in for FREE talks featuring local experts, and don’t miss the new exhibit of photos by Ian McCausland, showcasing local athletes as Olympian gods. Curious which god or goddess you’re most like? Take this short quiz. For more info and to buy tickets, visit olympus.wag.ca.

Feast with Gods & Goddesses The signature dinner-and-tour program includes a three-course Mediterranean dinner at TABLE Restaurant, followed by a tour of Olympus. On January 21 or February 14, take your sweetie on an Aphrodite-themed tour about the goddess of love…just in time for Valentine’s Day!

The WAG has lots of fun programming for families over the coming months. See what’s new at wag.ca/family.
