Go through time at Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site

One of the finest collections of early stone buildings in western Canada comes to life a short drive from Winnipeg at Lower Fort Garry. Mingle with costumed interpreters – in full character – as fur traders, Hudson’s Bay workers or North West Mounted Police. Check out graffiti carved on  the stone walls by fur traders and country club members. Enjoy some fresh bannock at our Indigenous encampment and stroll over to watch the sparks fly in the Blacksmith’s shop .

Beavers to Buicks is a tour that will evoke your sense of wonder. Available 7 days per week, the tour is offered in both official languages at 11 a.m.1 p.m. and 3 p.m.. Take a sneak-peek at the timeline below for a preview  of what lies in store — from asylums to penitentiaries and Beavers to Buicks — Lower Fort Garry is yours to discover.
