Rainbow Trout Festival is considered one of the coolest, indie music festivals in Manitoba. For three days, you can camp, hang out with friends around a bonfire, swim and dance. This festival is as eclectic as it gets with genres of rock, blues, hip-hop, garage, folk, reggae and much more.

Where can you experience the musical vibes and creativity of cutting-edge electro all in one weekend? Well at MEME, of course. This festival highlights local and international electronic musicians using the latest in technology to create the most stimulating of sounds.

Feast your way through culture

Where can you find lively music, great food, hearty laughter, rich culture and vibrant colours all under one roof? Well, 21 roofs if you’re counting. Folklorama is coming to a close and you only have a few days left to experience this rich cultural extravaganza! So get going! As always, Assiniboine Park is the perfect leisure spot on any day, but this Friday, if you do decide to take a stroll, leave enough time to head over to the Lyric Theatre a fun movie night feature. And, if you’re out in the Whiteshell area on August 19, you can also enjoy an free movie evening event at Falcon Lake. Just bring along your blankets, chairs and snacks.

Rumor’s Comedy Club

Looking for a laugh…or two? Rumor’s Comedy Club might have just the gig – or gigs – to leave you in stitches and begging for more…or less; well at least ’til you catch your breath. This week, the club features up and coming comedian Ben Walker, whose quick and off-the-cuff style has proven to be a winner among audiences. America’s Got Talent stand out Piff the Magic Dragon will also be performing this week.
